Where did my low notes go?!?!? Amp took 1/2 crap???

I've been running my crescendo 5500 on two DC xl 15's with two XP3000's and a 160a alternator for about 6 months now.

Everything has been great until today, I went to replace my audio control 3.2 under warranty because it began making scratching noises

when turning the volume knob. Everything was okay and i cranked it up to give it listen right as i finished the install. It sounded fine and was loud for

15 seconds or so. I switched songs and immediately noticed a lack in the bass, the volume diminished and the woofers seemed hungry for power.

I've been tuning it all day and can't get it to sound right, it's not a tuning issue. When i play music the woofers hardly move on the low notes but hit to hard on the high notes. They seem hungry for power on low notes and hardly move but when the notes change to higher frequencys around 45hz its to much and the clipping indicator starts lighting up. The clipping indicator is lighting up especially on the bass kicks and when the highs kick back in. It doesn't sound balanced and even across all bass frequency's like it used to. I've tried switching between both EQ's and the problem remains, i took the woofers out of the box and all the wires are in place, I tried a new RCA cable with no luck. I'm beginning to think its my amp. I've already had a power supply rebuild on the crescendo 5500 when i first bought it due to a stupid mistake on my end. Is it possible that part of the power supply has failed again and I'm not seeing full power? allowing only enough power to hit high notes? Do things like this happen? Is it possible that it's only delivering a fraction of power and running off only half the power supply. I'm wondering if it needs to be sent in and serviced, this summer has been hot and hard on it. I'm beginning to think it may have just taken its toll gave out from high demand. All of my diagnosing so far is leading me to believe its failure at the amplifier. If anyone has any input it would be much appreciated. I don't want to spend money on diagnosing and buying things that may not even be the cause. I want to nail it on the head, have it fixed and be back in working order. Thanks in advance!
