single 15 inch kicker l7 box help

So my buddy just gave me a 15 inch kicker l7 I couldn't believe it and it works but the box he. Had wont fit in my trunk so I have been look for a box design and so far everything is to big ... joe x help me last time with a bad ass box for to 12s the box I made be for was H 18 W 34 L 18 and it was a tight fitbut man did it beat like a mf haha but I would like the box to be a lil smsmaller if possible and ported so if any one can help out there I would greatly appreciate it

what year l7? theyre pretty much same specs over the years but all manuals are available for these subs, and for a single box they have reccomended box specs. ported for an l715 they reccomend 3-6 cubic feet and the above specs net 5.12 cubic feet internally. the small reccomended ported enclosure is 3.0 cu.ft + port volume, assuming the port is made of 3/4" material to kickers specs, (2.5 x 16.25” (6.4x41cm) port, 19.5” (50cm) long) and installed inside the box this design works out to 3.8 cu.ft total. this design works out to be 25.625" long by 18x18 square, but would limit where to point the port( one end or the other)

this is just a baseline, i am not familliar with port tuning etc. but this single box, smaller than previous, is per kickers specs. work out the math for your particular LxWxH and remember to include thickness of your materials. 1.5" for two peices of 3/4" mdf... kicker reccomends a slot port vs a round port but i dont know their reasoning for this. anyways, hope this helps

So the year idk but I called him and he said he got the l7 3 years ago new and ya I no nothing about m akeing a box whatso ever
