slomar Posted August 21, 2016 Report Posted August 21, 2016 I have 2 sundown sa-12's dvc 2 ohm and currently have a jl jx1000/1d mono amp and would be running it @ 2 ohm for 1000w so 500rms for each sub (might upgrade amp later down the road). But this is what i have to work with at the moment. I have a 2001 jeep cherokee xj (so open cabin) and max dimensions are Width: 38" Height: 18" Depth: 24". Was wanting a ported box and I was looking for happy medium between SQ and SPL. I want the bass to be able to cave your chest in but also be able to hear the music when the bass hits. I see the recommended specs per sub were 2.0 cu. ft. @ 35Hz but was wondering would that be good for what i described? Or maybe around 37/38 Hz? I listen to rap probably 80% of the time and edm probably 20% of the time. And love to hear those lows and actually feel the bass when it hits, but also hear the music. Was also wanting to face subs back and port back, and was not too sure if slot ports or aero ports were better? Your help would much be appreciated!
