sniperlif3 Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 I have a 2001 Saab 9-5. It has a Harmon Kardon system that contains 9 total speakers. 3 on the dash about 2.5" that run highs as far as I am aware, 2 front door at 6.5", 2 in rear doors at 5.25" (I think), and 2 rear shelf at 6x9" that are designed for bass. The system has a factory installed amp that I have no idea what it amplifies. I really want to upgrade the Head unit, all speakers, amplify the speakers, add a subwoofer and amplifier. I already have the subwoofers, amp, and box that match so I am not worried about this. A kenwood head unit with 3 RCA jack sets (6 jacks 3 positive, 3 negative) As well as some nice 6.5" speakers ready to be put in. I also have a 4 channel rockford fosgate P400x4 that can output 100watts at 2 ohms to all 4 channels, but I am not sure how that would fit in to my whole build or if it will be used at all (was given to me new and free). My issue is how to go about maintaining all or most speaker functionality while providing more quality and speaker loudness. I really want to amp the speakers but the differing sizes makes me think it might be hard to amp most of them. The main focus would be to boost the doors and the rear shelf. It would be nice to amp the dash speakers as well, but definitely not a requirement. I don't mind losing the center dash speaker but it would be nice to maintain. Any helpful tips would be amazing, and if you recommend some parts that would be even better. I am just not sure how to go about getting everything wired to run. Sorry for sounding dumb, I am used to simple 4 speaker setups. This is just outside of my knowledge.
