i am running windows vista ultimate and every time i try to install a new program such as iTunes or Adobe Reader i get an error message.

This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exist and that you can access if, or contact the application vender to verify that this is a valid windows installer package.

If it helps i am using a HP Pavilion dv9000 notebook.

I think that happened to me before. All I did was a clean install and it solved the problem.

#1. Make sure the installer file is not corrupted. (Download it again from scratch)

#2. Make sure the installer file is FOR windows vista.
