Bonka Posted June 25, 2017 Report Posted June 25, 2017 Putting an SA-12 D4 v3 in my WRX and am trying to design and build a box for it since the shop costs too much. Ported isn't as easy as my sealed I did for an old build. If I did my math right, using 3/4" wood, I should have 1.89 ft^3 (1.86 + .17 - .14) and the port is 2" x 13" x 28" giving me roughly a 34 hz tune. This would be so much easier and smaller with a sealed box but I want the lows. Would greatly appreciate any feedback on this.

Then again I've never done this before. Hence why I'm asking for some help. Now I'm kind of lost though. I don't know how it could be that far off.
Bonka Posted June 25, 2017 Author Report Posted June 25, 2017 I guess I messed the port length up. I was taking 12.75 + 15.25 rather than 10 + 15.25. Time to look this back over.

Bonka Posted June 25, 2017 Author Report Posted June 25, 2017 Measuring down the center of the port I still get 28" of port length. My volume calculations were done with all the internal dimensions so the thickness of walls was already taken out. There's a big volume difference between what I have and what that program has and I'm not grasping it right now.

Bonka Posted June 25, 2017 Author Report Posted June 25, 2017 For my volume I was doing 9.25 x 26.75 x 13 / 1728 = 1.86. Then the 11.5 x 2 x 13 / 1728 = .17.
