Bonka
Putting an SA-12 D4 v3 in my WRX and am trying to design and build a box for it since the shop costs too much. Ported isn't as easy as my sealed I did for an old build. If I did my math right, using 3/4" wood, I should have 1.89 ft^3 (1.86 + .17 - .14) and the port is 2" x 13" x 28" giving me roughly a 34 hz tune. This would be so much easier and smaller with a sealed box but I want the lows. Would greatly appreciate any feedback on this.

Bonka
Thanks for checking. I was using http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp and thought it looked good. Then again I've never done this before. Hence why I'm asking for some help. Now I'm kind of lost though. I don't know how it could be that far off. Bonka
I guess I messed the port length up. I was taking 12.75 + 15.25 rather than 10 + 15.25. Time to look this back over.
Jessica
measure down the center of the port. also did you sbtract the thickness of the port walls from your volume and the sub displacement.? Bonka
Measuring down the center of the port I still get 28" of port length. My volume calculations were done with all the internal dimensions so the thickness of walls was already taken out. There's a big volume difference between what I have and what that program has and I'm not grasping it right now.

Bonka
For my volume I was doing 9.25 x 26.75 x 13 / 1728 = 1.86. Then the 11.5 x 2 x 13 / 1728 = .17.
