I'm in agreement that you have to evaluate the purpose or need for isolating batteries in the first place. In this case, if the XS battery(s) are of a differing chemistry, size, or age verses the Ford batteries, then connecting everything in parallel is not ideal as the batteries with a naturally higher voltage will equalize with batteries that sit at a lower voltage. That's not conducive to battery longevity, but difficult to quantify with so many variables that affect battery longevity. In my particular case, an isolator was desirable for self-jumping and the ability to purposely discharge my aux. battery when camping, without effecting the ability to start the truck the next day.
