Glass for 6th order bandpass window

I was about to start my 6th order bandpass build for my 10w7 and was wondering if I could use 1/2 inch thick glass I having laying around instead of 3/4 acrylic because I don't have the money for it. I was planning on sandwiching the glass in between two pieces of wood like a window with caulk on each side of the glass between the wood for vibration and air leaks. I was wondering if I can do this and if anybody has done it.
