KillaAkuma
So I am trying to determine best amp out of the two I have been looking at. This will all be run off factory HU not looking to switch as car runs off of the infotainment system just trying to add on. Single. Woofer: Solo-Baric L7 12". Impedance: 2 Ohms. Power Watts: 1500 Peak / 750 RMS. Sensitivity: 86.9 dB 1w/1m. Box Top Depth: 14-3/4" (37.4 cm). Box Bottom Depth: 17-7/8" (45.5 cm). Box Height: 16" (40.6 cm). Box Width: 18-3/4" (47.6 cm). the amps I’m looking at are Taramps Bass 1200.1 1ohm or Orion XTR 1000.1 from my research so far the Orion is power hungry this won’t be a comp setup just a daily driver so wattage isn’t a concern as I won’t be pushing it just normal volume levels and the amp won’t be turned to full gain as it will probably smoke the sub. So my question is which one? They both run around the same price and they are both under rated according to BMDwiz dyno runs of these brands. So help me out here. bigone5500
Orion for the win! Just my opinion.
KillaAkuma
Thanks I was leaning towards the Orion already just wish people would have chimed in with their opinions. I like to hear the good and bad of how people with experience with these feel.
bigone5500
I have the 2500.1Dz on a single 10. That amp only draws about 35A or so at 4ohms as I have it wired. At 2ohms you may get current draws at roughly twice the 4ohm...maybe even higher. You can always turn the gain down if it's too much.
bigone5500
Remember the Orion is underrated. Set gains and measure output so not to damage the sub.
