A&W ROOTBEER Posted May 10, 2008 Report Share Posted May 10, 2008 i might get flamed for saying this but hey its my opinion..lol i would guess the L7 would be louder but the lvl4 would sound better while still being loud..quality wise i have heard that L7's have a tendency to blow or pop and have not read a single bad thing about DC..also ive noticed you get better customer service from the smaller companies then you do from the big name brand guys.. camino_1to3 Posted May 10, 2008 Author Report Share Posted May 10, 2008 Oh yeah, one thing out of there you're def. right about CUSTOMER SERVICE, i've had several friends send their L7's and CVR's back to kicker, and take months for them to get back. My friend sent his because it blew, had the warranty so he mailed it about a month ago back to kicker with all the info. He has prom tonight and another next weekend and has to borrow soem W6's from my buddy cause kicker has taken so long. You'd think with a company that everyone thinks is so "great" they'd be able to get on their shit faster, rather than that they take forever, never answer peoples phone calls when it comes to getting shit repaired anway, and when you call they say that noones remembered to get on it yet. Tell that story to someone who has a competition or a big thing coming up. camino_1to3 Posted May 10, 2008 Author Report Share Posted May 10, 2008 I also forgot to mention how you can go up to circuit city or any big audio shop and see e.g .. a L7 being sold for $500, but get it off ebay for a third of that. When guys from the lower brands like DC, Audioque etc give you great prices, great service, great products and you can talk directly to the owner because he answers his own phone! camino_1to3 Posted May 10, 2008 Author Report Share Posted May 10, 2008 Yeah, i liked my L7, nice loud boom, not too much SQ, and there zx series are really great amps (although not stable to one ohm =[), but everyone knows that kicker has most of their stuff made on lines in china, meaning (and i've heard this from several reliable sources not going to mention names though) that you can get ebay prices for a third of MSRP, and it costs them less than a third of ebay prices to build that stuff. It's a well known fact for anything manufactured overseas. Cheaper for labor and material. I ve heard alot of L7 setups around here and by comparison my LV 3'S are comparable .. @ 12 l7 s in a trunk did a 146.x at the last show i was at.. Nice box ( he built ) good power rf t2000 .. Good number but not impressive since i just did a 145 with lv 3's that arent even broken in yet. And rustys a cool guy, very good to work with Shipped quick and packed well.. camino_1to3 Posted May 10, 2008 Author Report Share Posted May 10, 2008 Oh hell yeah, i ordered my Lvl 4 a few days ago, i got rid of that L7 i was tired of being like every other kid around town with a kicker in their trunk. I have a friend with two L7 15"s, zx2500.1, and did a 146 last time he checked with his bass down on the head unit, when he turned it up he said he noticed some diff too. But BFB does 152 with his two lvl 4's and a couple RF 1500's, the L7's were in a silverado and the LVL4's in an eclipse.
