oldgearworks Posted August 11, 2020 Report Posted August 11, 2020 dd-1 is arriving today. i've read the manual and watched videos. my question is, when setting the headunit max do i run the 40hz and 1khz tone while on my front output rca, or do i just run the 1khz on the front output rca, then plug in my sub's rca output for the 40hz test tone? kenwood ddx7017 jl slash 500/1v1 jl slash 300/4v1 jl c3 5.25 components front no rears stinger 6000 rca's'
oldgearworks Posted August 12, 2020 Author Report Posted August 12, 2020 not sure i posted this in the correct forum topic, but: I checked my h/u max vol. using the rca's. actually just went through all of them. kenwood ddx7017 maxed 35/35 with a clean signal. however, when i went to set my door speaker amp it was distorted without adding any gain.double checked everything was flat/set properly. checked h/u max the recommended way through the amp and got a max vol of 31/35. after that i was able to set things up no problem with a -5db for the speakers and a -5 for the sub. just thought this may help someone. kenwood ddx7017 jl slash 500/1v1 jl slash 300/4v1 jl c3 5.25 components front no rears stinger 6000 rca's'
