Blade73 Posted October 7, 2022 Report Posted October 7, 2022 Planning on replacing my 12" Alpine Type R (old 500w version) in a crap box with a American Bass XFL1222. It will be running on a Rockford Fosgate prime 1200.1d at 1ohm. Stock electrical with 0/1 guage. Going in a 09' Silverado, rear floor with seat folded up. I'm thinking sub down / side slot port if that would work good. I have a brother that is a woodworker but this will be his first sub box build helping me out. He had a sugestion to use 1/2" thick birch cabinet grade plywood and laminate 2 pieces together. I'm guessing I'd be better off with 3/4" MDF? Trying to get locally with limited options. I have up to 36"W x 15"D area to work with and would like to keep the heighth under 16" if possible. The lower the better. This screenshot is a general idea I had in mind if it would work good for my situation. I listen to a variety of music depending on mood but mostly old rock, old country and some metal.
