Amp cutting out

So my amp cuts out when I'm not accelerating and when I'm turning is it because of the dip in voltage from using the power steering it works fine when I step on the gas or keep rpm's higher anybody have any ideas on how to fix it and would hooking up my power wire to the battery instead of my alternator help
