wiring help Alpine Type R Component Crossover Wiring Question

So I'm planning on installing a set of Alpine Type R 6x9 Component speakers in the front doors and dash corners on my Toyota Camry. The set comes with a passive crossover that plugs into 2 extra terminals on the woofer. My problem is the woofer and tweeter are not in the same door. I'm going to be wiring new speaker wire to them and was wondering if i can splice the crossover wires in parallel into my new speaker wire before it goes through the door plug and boot into the door and then hide the crossover somewhere under the dash. I'm new to amplified component speakers and sorry if this is a dumb question, my last set of components were just ran off the head unit and the tweeter was in the door so i didn't have this problem.
