First off, amazing site... I love going into stereo shops, listening to the sales people say "blah, blah, blah" and then I say "on steve meade's site that is not what they suggest" and the entire conversation changes...

Anyways, to my current situation:

I am a 30+ bass head. I thought I would outgrow it, but NO. So, I have purchased the following two items, and I am getting ready to build my first box:

15 inch Kaption Sub: http://www.kaptionaudio.com/manuals/SPLManual.pdf

Mono Block Kaption Amp: http://www.kaptionaudio.com/manuals/KaptionD-Class.pdf

I am putting these in an 08 Tahoe. I have taken out the 3rd row seating (as I want to still be able to use the space).

I am looking for a ported box, tuned to between 33hz or 34hz. I believe firing the sub up and having the port facing backwards is the best option.

I guess I am looking for some advice as to size and shape of the box. There is thiele information in the pdf.

Any help you can provide me would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.

well since they require very little space this will be easy, reply with max dimensions the box could be and ill design a box real quick

personally, after looking at parameters....

decent motor strength + 600w rms + high qts +140oz motor = 6cubes net ~45sqin port, tuned to 34hz

what are you looking for sq, sql, spl

Thanks for the reply,

I have an 08 tahoe with the third seats out, I am not sure if I want to use the front half or quarter, but I would like it at the front (towards the front of the cabin) with the ports back etc... Height wise, maybe 20 inches tall max.

width, either max half of the width. I will take some measurements and try to get back. There were dimensions in the pdf, but I am not sure if they help.

I am looking for volume, but clarity. I like the deep notes, but I listen to a lot of rap with some modern rock (audioslave etc...)

Is there anyone who can draw that box on google sketch for me so I know what it will look like?
