Hey Yall, I've been reading these forums since a few months ago when i found meade on youtube and final got around to posting. This is my first post ever in a forum so bear with me. I just wana show my new car i got and the changes im making as i go. Its an 06 Dodge Charger with 22's, tinted, tinted tail lights, Clarion flip up touch screen dvd player, memphis mids and tweeters with a rockford 400w and for them and 3 12" P3 rockford subs with a 1500w rockford amp for them. When i got it the trunk rattled like there was a monkey in there trying to beat it self out, so my first little bit of mods were to try and quite that down(or however you spell it - i build cars not spell shit good) anyways heres some pix so far, ANY FEEDBACK AND ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED, i am very talented and knowledgable about all things automotive and fabrication so gimme some great ideas and help guys thanks

Here it is when i got it

and here i took 3m windshield urethane and squeeze it between the outer skin and inner frame were ever i could

then i used a 2 part urethane expanding foam from Smooth On and poured it in all the holes, and made one hell of a mess, but this stuff dries in 5 minutes and is so hard it takes a hammer to get to break it

Then i put a layer of Stinger Road Kill on just the outer skin part

then i took second skin spectrum and poured it in that whole lower area, and let me tell you i poured it close to 1/2 thick and they only recomend multiple layers 1mm thick and i tell you that is for a reason, i had to leave it on my asphalt drive way for 4 days just to get it stiff enough so it wouldnt sag when i put it back on the car, about 3 weeks later i think it is fairly well dried and boy did it help

thats it for now on the trunk when i get some money together my plans are a whole layer of second skin dampifyer on the whole inside and then have the whole underside Line-x'ed LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANYMORE YOU THINK I COULD DO

Then i got this 3/8 foam backer rod i found at Lowes its just a 3/8 thick foam rubber rod for sealing up houses, Well i figured out the trunk was flexing alot mostly cause the weatherstrip was so flimsy, So i took that stuff soaped it up real good and fed it the whole way through and wow it made it so much stiffer, and it didnt make the trunk close any harder, it was BY FAR THE BEST THING IVE DONE TO LOWER THE TRUNK RATTLING sorry i didnt take any pics feeding it through but here is the package

One day when i was tearing out some of the inner trunk liners i found those stupid things the factory puts in to help keep from having in car air pressure at least thats what i think anyways i took them out and made some steel plates and glued and riveted them over the holes to help seal up the trunk, it also helped the bumper from rattling as much

Thats it for this post i guess but ill be putting up more when i have time, ive started a new box and will post the pix soon
