what do you mean? the wire, including the jacket, or the wire itself, inside the jacket. Just cause the cable says 8 gauge does not mean it has the same strand count as the more mid to high end cable. That is what really counts, not how bit the entire cable plus jacket is, but the strand count, from what I understand.

i got some in my work bag i just checked out and the copper its self is prolly an 8th " thick or mabey a hair more.

would it b alright if i change my fuse box/relay cable to a 8 gauge cable??..or is it too thin??

for what???..is because my wire on my fuse box/relay under the hood is fukd up...some dumbass mechanic cut the wire for i dont know what reason and my car sometimes dont wanna start up...so im asking if a 8 gauge would be good for my fuse box/relay...now you get me bro?
