1st check alllllll your wiring and connectinos to your amp, fusing, shorts, crimps in the wire, etc .....

then use a DMM and check your power and remote wires to make sure its good

thennnnnnn theres a chance your amp went bad

having the gain half way doesnt help us determine if you ran it too hard or not. did you tune your amp correctly with a DMM or Oscilloscope?

check for blown fuses anywhere in your electrical system for your audio.

well having the gain "half way up" is really risky because some amps put out more current at half gain than other amps.

put a DMM, set it to AC volts, and attach the little needles to the speaker outputs. turn the gain up/down until you reached the desired voltage to send out.

edit: use this picture to help you.

Is the amp turning on, but just going into protect mode. You could have just blown the sub. Check the RCA's. Make sure your getting signal. Could be your radio causing all this.
