tacomabanga1986 Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 ok well i got this headunit installed and no whine noise at all without the "grounded" rca wires hooked up so it was the other cdplayer takin a shit i think, anyways this headunit has so many adjustments its not funny, i need more help on the cross over slopes than anything else, ok i got a front hpf, a rear hpf, and a sub lpf, each has a cross over point from 50-200htz and a passave/-6db slope/-12db slope, whats the best way to set this up, i was gunna set my front of the headunit (witch is hooked up to a 2ch amp powering my front componits and rear coax's with tweets, and the rear to my 8'' subs for midbass, now i was gunna set my fronts to 160htz with a -12db slope, and the rear to 120htz with a -6db slope, but im haveing trouble with the subs slope, i understand the higher slope the more bass it cuts out but with a sub i dont understand this at all, any help apreciated, i will take a pic of what im talkin about tommrow hopefully, i kno this headunit can sound killer i think its a sq headunit to be honest cause with 6.5v rca outputs and all the adjustments, i cant turn it past 25 and its hella loud, but i didn't reset my amps yet ima have my buddy who owns a shop set it for me, and it sounds great now but i kno it will get better with more tweeking, and i dont kno how to get the name of the songs to move over more on the headunit from my ipod adapter so i can read all of it, u hit esc and it scrolls threw ish and stuff, it takes time to get useto as all headunits do but anyways anyone with experence with this headunit plz help me, would be more than apreciated here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit

Guest Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 a -6db slope will lose -6db every octave, which is basically a slow roll-off a -12db slope has a sharper rolloff and the -24db has a very sharp roll-off. the higher the -db slope number, the more strict it will become when dealing with frequencies. (i dont really know how to make it more clear than that)
tacomabanga1986 Posted September 14, 2008 Author Report Posted September 14, 2008 i dont see why my sub channel doesnt have a passave so i can run it at is given freq like my other unit tho, and the front and rear has passave and 6db 12db roll off, i guess i'll halfto pittle with it and listen to see what sounds best, what u think the subs would work best with? the higher db rolloff i got the punchyer the bass but the lower the roll off it doesnt hit as hard but has alot of lows, and same freq @ 50htz, lol and the 16band eq is agervateing to adjust, plus each front and rear has a -gain on it so i can turn each up or down if i want to plus the fade witch is wierd on my part, thankx for the input man here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit
