NoFearX18 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Ok so just recently my BTL hasnt been sounding the same... Not as loud. I can tell because my lows used to annoy the hell out of me because all i would hear was my roof. the lows arent loud at all... the sub seems weak. took it out of the box and it looks ok. spiders are fine. sub still moves the same. i cant see the coil becuase of the motor being so big lol. the amp hasnt been messed with either... any idea why this may be? raytard Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Just throwing it out there, but I had a similar problem with some kicker CVR's when they were in my car Turns out I blew one coil of one sub, and it caused an impedance rise, halving my power basically im not sure how yours is wired, but take a nine volt to each battery individually and see if the speaker "pops" if it does, youre in the clear other than that, you may just be going deaf. check your voltage as long as youre going over everything, a volt difference is noticible in some cars, I can definately tell that my system is quieter after the car sits in the parking lot for a week or two and discharges itself a bit, can also tell its louder if I drive for a while with it on real low and then crank it. jayjay6888 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 hook the leads up to a DMM to check each coil... and of course the basic run through of all you wire checking sure nothing came loose 1 Fi Sp4 18 Crescendo 2k selenium mids audioque supertweets Hifonics for mids and and highs 1/0 power and grounds ---> on the way singer alt and possibly another 2k depending how sub likes 1 2k
