S10,blazer,jimmy Owners Need Help Wit Double Din Installation

ok so i have seen people put double dins in s10,jimmys, blazers need help on doing it. will it just fit it normally??? i no u would have to cut the bezel, any help and pics would be great thanks

somebody was selling a bezel on here somewhere that accomodated a double din if i remember correctly. ill try and find it.

ok thanks im pretty sure they fit in the dash u just have to modify the bezel but not sure

yea i seen that but no way im payin 500 for that bezel when i can modify it myself just tryin to figure out what i gotta do thanks

well u might need to find an bezel like this

or a junker wit a rds radio because rds radios are double din

im still looking for a kit to mount the radio

so thats what i found out so far

not 100% sure, but bezels out of 2002 and newer S10 have a double din opening, as they had the RDS radios that were double din. You will still have to make a mounting bracket, but the bezel with fit fine, and all the other openings for your AC, rear window wiper/hatch pop, and 4x4 panels will line up perfectly. the bezel pictured above is one of those with the factory double din. anything 1998-2001 will only have 1.5 din opening, so it would take some cutting, and body work to make it fit, and look good. You can usually find bezels for less than 100 bucks, plus whatever shipping will be.

That wont work with the 1.5 din dashes because the holes for the mounting screws are different. I believe the double din units only have 3, and the 1.5 have 4

yeah mines a din 1/2 and i believe it has 4. i want to put a double din as well. went to a local shop..they were gona charge out the a$$ to do it.

I have a 99 s10 blazer. I wanted the same thing so I had to cut a little out if the bezel then I ca glued the trim ring. Then I just finished molding it in once I was done. The I took the hu and it fit right in the opening of the dash. I had to cut just a little out of the top brace. Then I just positioned it to where erything lined up. And I havent had no problems. You will have to make a mounting bracket for the hu tho.
