themoney8 Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 this is my first time messing with car audio so im kinda of a noob but i know some what about it... i have an fi btl 15 and i noticed it has 2 ports where you can connect the speaker wire to, do i use both to power the sub or just one. also do i use regular speaker wire (( i actualy have some rockford fosgate speaker wire))to power the sub or some other kind of wire?

Seems like you are a bit over your head right now but thats besides the point. What coil configuration is the subwoofer, dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohm. We need to know that in order to tell you how to hook it up. Secondly, dont use regular cheap ass speaker wire that is like 20gauge shit. Get some good 12 gauge wire if you are gonna be wiring it inside of the box. If you are wiring it outside the box, 8-10 gauge is best. Diablo Audio Technologies Fi Car Audio Ascendant Audio
a_steezy Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 i believe its a 1ohm im kinda in the same ballpark as you... not stealing thread but am wondering how to wire one ohm subs? cant find a site with 1 ohm subs or whatever to punch in, RF wiring wizard is 2/4 ohm dvc, can't find any with 1 ohm dvc, anyone know a good site?
