Hows The Best Way To Seal Off A Speaker Pod?

i got a set of polk db 6&1/2 6500 componits and a set of db 6&1/2 coax 651 and my question is ive got everything wired in phase but my door speakers (witch i took out the door pocket n made a pod for the mid) does not sound right in phase with the others i have to wire the left side out of phase so i can hear midbass, is there anyway to seal off a pod? to help questions when i first made the plate it was for a 5&1/4 coax to see if it would fit in the door but it wouldn't so i had to make a ring for it to mount to and angle it n i fiberglassed it so its got a hole for a 5&1/4 behind the 6&1/2'' mid so i was wondering how could one seal this off so i could get midbass? the speakers sound awesome its just the doors doesnt sound right in phase its like they cancle eachother out n when i wire em out of phase they have more midbass, i kno there in phase cause i ran speaker wire from amp straight to xover for comps n all the wires are pos to pos n neg to neg all the way to the amp on all speakers, i just dont kno why they do that, ive heard that u could find the posative leed wire by grounding a test light to the door n touch the other end to teh wires n the one thats pos will light up or flash n the neg wouldn't do nothin, im not sure if yall done that or not but its worked for me, and i think they will sound better sealed off from the doors, can i fiberglass over it n then cut a hole for the speaker wire to run threw n then maby put hot glue around to seal it off n will that work? i gotta finish "mock" ups of the pods but other than that this is my only concern, and the amp is a sony "600w" 4ch doin about 75w rms @4ohm 150rms@2ohm and this amp is a really good one cause when my battery was goin bad it still worked fine when my voltage was settin around 9v and didn't go into protect n ive had it for a while, ima prolly hook up a xover to it later down the road but how have some of you sealed off the back of a pod? or have any ideas on how to seal it off with a 5&1/4'' hole on the backside, anyways thankx for looking
