DHFHades Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could find an alt for my car, originally it had a 30 amp generator that I swapped for a 60 amp alternator. so I am going to run a second battery and maybe an isolator, but I really need more amps...even 100 amps would make me happy 1990 Jeep Cherokee 4X4 Pioneer DEH-P2900MP, Big 3 done in 1/0, 1 run 1/0 ran to amp DAT HF1000.1 #007 powering a DC lvl4 15 DAT HR 4085 prototype powering 2 Selenium 6s and 2 no name tweeters running active 1st place in AS3 @ Surf City Sound Off, 140.8 @ 45hz @ the headrest. rebuild coming soon to get a better score "I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail. I have owned a couple of them - the '67 I bought new. I had a dealer installed A/C system in the '67, and it mounted a York compressor on the driver's side. There was a secondary drive pulley added to the crankshaft to drive the compressor. Your best bet would be adding a second alternator to the system. I would start scrounging for the old A/C drive pulley & bracket. The old compressor bracket could be modified for alternator mounting, and the pulley is a must have. If a small York fit in that space, you should be able to fit an AD244 in there. Good luck with your project. 'Link missinglinkaudio The United States Marine Corps.
