Gain Set Question

I know how to set the amp but when you use the voltage calculator to set the gains do you use the rms of the amp or the real rms??

for example my memphis mcd-1500 puts out more then 1500 at 2 ohm so do I use 1600-1700 rms or 1500 to set the amp?

Example 1500 watts rms =54.77

1600 watts rms = 56.57

1800 watts rms = 60

so what do I use?

is this for music or pure spl? if for music than its totaly pointless...just set HU volume to 90% and turn sub gain up while playing a common song untill the subs distorte or wont get any louder...than back it down a little.

is this how you set yours with a dmm?

dont even bother with the dmm, unless you have multiple sub amps, than use the dmm to match the gains...if it is music that judt do what i said, no dmm needed
