EpicenterDesigns
Don't see any baffles to mount the subs in the new box. Got any pics of that? Looks great so far. Today you will see how it goes together. Building The Best.....Repairing The Rest The bitter after-taste of a poor quality job will last far longer than the sweetness of that cheap price! EpicenterDesigns
When I left off, I had the connector pieces sides built and test fitted. Well here are the ppics of it all done with the mounting flanges built on each side so it can be connected. EpicenterDesigns
The inside flange is where it will be bolted to the bed part of the box and the outer flange will attach it to the inside part of the box. Here is the test fit of it all done before I put Everglass on the seams to reinforce it. EpicenterDesigns
I dislike the dowl method of setting up rings. I only use it if I can't use a 2x4. I get asked how to use a 2x4 like this and when I explain it, they get lost. Maybe these pics will help. I cut the 2x4 at the angle I want the ring to sit and attach them together with 1 screw in the center where the pivot was for the router. EpicenterDesigns
Position the ring at the angle you want it and shoot some paint around the base of it. This will mark the position of the 2x4. You will trace this position next. EpicenterDesigns
Grab you a piece of paper or posterboard and cut it to the edges of the wood and where the 2x4 was marked at. Now flip it to the other side and trace the position of the 2x4. Should be a perfect image of the other side. Drill 2 pilot holes so you can secure the 2x4 from underneath and your good to go. This will allow you to cut the center of the ring out, remove the 2 screws from underneath and it will lift out. EpicenterDesigns
As you might have noticed, the center of my rings are still attached. I routered about 3/4 of the way through and when I am ready, I will follow that groove with an air saw. Keeps the insides clean with no tape waste. Here is a shot of the rings placed and the port set in the center to see how it would look. Looked good to me. EpicenterDesigns
I glued the connector piece in and sealed and reinforced all the seams. How the connector looks installed and the edges rounded over. EpicenterDesigns
Now we are getting somewhere. Installed the port and the top. Getting closer to stretching this thing.
