andywmu Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 We are planning on building a system for my friends 95' Ex. Cab Silverado. He currently has 4 10" JBL subs under the back seat in a small box. He only has around 5.75" of mounting depth so that shot Fi out of the question. He want's something louder and cleaner, but doesn't want to sacrifice the entire back area. He has Rockford Punch 1000w amp to work with, so any subwoofer that can handle that power and would sound loud and clean could be possible. What do you recommend to put into this truck? We'd like to keep the budget for sub/enclosure around $500 USD Just need some recommendations. Thanks Quote 15" Fi BL Ported 4.0 cu ft. Sundown 1500d Full 1/0 Gauge Throughout Big 3

bassbaker15 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 well from exp, you cant really do very much with atht space under the seat.. i have two 10s back there, and its barley enough airspace.. i have those 10s on 1600 watts.. and its decent... my advice to him, its go ahead and take out that back seat... shouldnt really miss it after a week or two Quote Team Deadly Hertz 1997 GMC 1500 Update.... andywmu Posted January 29, 2009 Author Report Posted January 29, 2009 Thats what we were deciding. Most likely going to do that, just don't want it to look out of area with just a box and the rest of the back area empty... With that RF amp he has, the birth sheet claims around 1300rms at 1 ohm. I was thinking of telling him to go with a 12" Fi BL. What other options do you think for the budget? Quote 15" Fi BL Ported 4.0 cu ft. Sundown 1500d Full 1/0 Gauge Throughout Big 3
bassbaker15 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 um..you can prolly do two lvl 3 15s in a ported box... should sound really good and be under that budget.. andywmu Posted January 29, 2009 Author Report Posted January 29, 2009 alright I am looking into them right now. As for box design, what would be the best? don't really want a wall, just something easy to get out when needed keep in mind. Subs up port up? Quote 15" Fi BL Ported 4.0 cu ft. Stephen Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 the backseat is tiny anyways, get rid of it like i did. Quote you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. bassbaker15 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 haha thats nice!! but his budget is 500 bucks and he hs 1300 watts to push the woofers... Quote Team Deadly Hertz 1997 GMC 1500 Update.... System is gone Motor is fucked Truck is down and out for a while Myspace YOUTUBE My Build
