Mellow18
i just did this as a test..and i hooked just one power hx2 12'' to a rockford power 1500bd amp.yes the old school one and the power on the amp was on...the protection light wasnt on all the wires were in the right inputs. "subwoofer" on the deck was up.. the controlls on the amp were down but i moved them arround and still nothing... i connected the sub to a diff amp and the sub gave some bass. the amp i connected was a little american pro bass machine 800w amp.(dont know how many RMS) (amp connected to the same connections that the RF was hooked up to) im not sure what the problem is? heres some more details..... the amp does make noise but i abouta 4 people told me that this amp does that. the wire is 8ga power wire and 8 ga ground off a 90amp fuse i believe...stock battery/alt i have 1/0 with 2 fuseholders i havent put in yet...waiting for the battery i ordered from mechman, i also have a 140amp switch the amp requires(well it req 150) and a 3farad voodoo cap. Stallion Marauder
I hope this doesnt sound like a dumb question but did you hook the bass knob up to it? Anyways my friend has fixed my 1501 bd twice when it started goin bad and no problems since. The first time the problem was a loose metal remote piece on the amp which we ended up openin up and doin some suttering and since then the amp never went into protection. Also just recently i started noticing a weird ass noise on the start up when the H/U loads on the subs. I was going krazy tryna figure out what that noise was. It ended up being an faulty RCA connection from the RCA terminals in the amp. So we just used the other side of the RCA terminal on the amp and no weird ass noise since. I must say i beat this amp pretty hard and it never overheats. I love this amp! Its been thru thick and thin and i just cant see myself gettin rid of it! Mikesmith0890
if he didnt have the remote hooked up the amp wouldn't power up. Double check your grounds and make sure they are a good metal surface.. maybe scuff it up a bit again. RCAs could be the problem but if they work on another amp i highly doubt its them though. It would suck though if it happens to be an internal problem on the amp.. if it is hopefully its something small Quote AlphaDamp Sound Deadening CDL Mat - The best Vibration Damper Ever!
