raytard Posted March 15, 2009 Report Share Posted March 15, 2009 i have kicker 8in l5's, in my application they are respectably loud, but going with a different box design they can spund very good and get pretty loud, you can def find them around 300 a pair throw a 600 watt ish amp on them and you're set, ive used infinity 1600a amps, 600rms at 2ohm, never had a problem with it, you can easily find them for under 300, so that should easily be in your budget, even including wiring the 8in comps/ cvrs are ok...i dont like them, they just dont have the area or excursion to get low.
