Box For Daily And Comp.

I have been thinking about building a new box for my JL 13W3V3 subs to possibly take to some compititions and still listen to daily. I would be trying to compete in the rookie class 1, so I would be limited to a 14 sq in port and I could only use 1 sub because the surface area of 2 would put in in class 3.

i have been thinking about a few different options...

ported box with internal volume of ~2.5 cubic feet and port heigth of 13.5 and width 1 inch tuned around 43

ported box with internal volume of ~1.9 cubic feet and port heigth of 3.74 and width 3.74 tuned around 45

ported box with internal volume of ~2.58 cubic feet and port heigth of 3.74 and width 3.74 tuned around 33

or just a small, tight sealed box.

my speaker recommended port box information is:

Tune to:-----25.0 hz

F3------------35hz

i am currently in a sealed box with both subs. NOt sure what i am hitting but i am pretty sure it is over 126 right now....max out the meter i have....

any recommendations or help would be appreciated.

is that 2.5 per sub? or just for one say you can stay in that class?

i would go with the 33 tuning if your wanting daily also.

yes it is 2.5 per sub....but i was planning to only use 1 sub to stay in the lower class and putting full amp power to that sub.

Just do one for daily and removable port for comps.

well...went with 2.5 cubic feet and a 1 by 14 inch port and port length of 11 inchs for one Sub. sounds pretty Nice....and loud. gotta find someone with a SPL meter close by. or I could spend the 650 to get one myself.
