Then again, it is Sony, so maybe it is clipping... I will try and get some wire to rerun the fronts. By checking waveform, do you mean checking the in phase/ out of phase? I'm new to a lot of this stuff... Sorry if I am asking a bunch of really stupid questions. I really do appreciate the help though Pop test is using a 9V battery or similar to test the phase of the speakers. If you do it behind the HU and the speaker moves out, you know it's + on +. This would just make sure the speakers aren't reverse polarity. Sony units aren't terrible. It's all in how you use them. And checking the waveform means "seeing" the frequencies. Basically using an o-scope, but you already said nobody has one. Is there a high school around? Or maybe your old one that you can speak with Chem or Physics teacher to use theirs?
