Battery Power

Recommended Posts

im building a system for my 84 classic mini

i have a 220amp alt, (the stock alt was 45amp) changed out the stock mini alt for a gm case alt

i upgraded the headlights from the seal beam units to

some wipac holgen lights that are 65watts ea

i have a optima yellow top as my main battery

and i have a pair of group 31's

that are rated at 925cca and 180ah

im useing 2/0 ga welding wire

and all 3 of the batteries are in the back of the car

where im gonna mount my amps

i was wondering if you guys think my electric system will be good enuff

to handle a pair of audiopipe ap15001 amps

or a single ap30001 amp

for daily driving

if not then i can add another battery or two and have

4 of those 180ah batteries

im gonna run a pair of tc-9 based 12's in the car

right now the batteries are all new,

i ordered the yellow top and by the time it came in

i took my mini off the road to re-do the suspension

and put in all new poly bushing kit on the car and paint all the suspension parts

so now im building a new battery rack and doing up a big system

thanks and sorry for the long post

ok

i traded back the yellow top battery i had, it was a group 31 yellow top but it was brand new still in the box

so the place i got it from let me trade it back into them

and i had to pay a few more bucks

but i got two more of the 180 ah

so im gonna run 5 of the 180ah bats in all with the 220amp alt

to daily drive 3k watts

just gonna build a rack to hold the bats now
