Does a slot port have to be in a L-Shape?

#1 it does not have to be l-shaped most of the time it is better if it isn't

#2 don't use re's box calculator it's all most always wrong

#3 I would also like to know what subs and what tuning you have

I am going to have 3 Fi BTL 18s @ 30 hertz

i've used re's calculator on the last 3 of my ported boxes and they did not let me down

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
