shainemcconnell
would like Opinion s Planning on building an aero ported box for Two 10" Lvl 4 with Lvl 5 VC. Going to use 6 inch external aero ports with a box that will have ~2.5 cubes after all deductions. Initially Planned on 2 ports, but then the lengths of the tubes seem to get Long to get tune around what we initially wanted (to long to fit in the var). Would 1 6" port actually be better, in this situation. this build is for IDBL, bass boxing, and daily listening. So a High tuning is not ideal . I think that is all i can think of for now. Thanks Edited July 22, 2009 by shainemcconnell Quote 2010 IDBL Rookie 1 North American Champion 2009 IDBL Rookie 1 Fl State Champion 2009 EBB Fly Weight 3rd Place Fl State Finals 2006 Silver Grand Prix GXP :Diablo Audio Hellfire 1000.1, JL Audio 300/4, One 13W7, ZR650, VR690, JL Cleansweep setup. banginAltima
I would normally tell you one 4 inch aero port... but since its a bad ass 10 I am not so sure. 6 inch is something we normally put on a 15. If you go with a 6 inch be on the look out for over excursion. Quote If you build it, db's will come... NSPL World Record Holder Trunk 0-1800 watts---147.9 with 1722 clamped watts @ 40Hz(9-20-09). I am going to run some numbers when I get home, and then we are going to prepare to build yet another box and hope this one will fit without any problems. banginAltima
Some more info for you.. One 4 inch port is 12.57 square inches One 6 inch port is 28.27 square inches Generally get more output with a larger single port. Edit: It looks like you change from one sub to two. I would try three 4 inch ports. Edited July 21, 2009 by banginAltima Quote If you build it, db's will come... shainemcconnell
always intended on 2..LOL...just forgot to say that in the first post. have been building a test box with only one sub and one port.....oops awesome..i think we might just build it with 2 for this weekend, three might be a little longer than we want. but we need a box, and we are pushing it close right now.
