Need some tips on detailing a black car

yeah Dave I knew it was a mild form of a rubbing compound and the different colors were different grits.

my neighbor who works for Les Schwab gave it to me and it works the best so far for my lip.

when you say angle grinder it kind of scares me almost makes me think I'm grinding my rim lip off.

oh i know how it sounds just think of a 6000 rpm spinning cloth i used to do this every day for a living i just tried to give the shortest possible explanation. next time u get around a chrome shop ask them for polish bars or rouge i beleive thats how u spell itand youll see its original form if havent already. are your wheels chrome or aluminum(no clear coat0 or aluminum(painted or clear coated)?

oh yea its great u just have to be careful about grabbing edges or holes in the wheels that damn thing will drag u

if they are straight aluminum lips try getting them machine cut(polished) or try it ur self just whatever you do dont go for the cheapest guys in the polishing arena cuz they will get dull within a monthaverage price just to do a lip is $25 a wheel once its done though u can keep it up with the hand polish. or u can buy ur own machine $189 plus a buffing pad $8 and 2 bars of rouge to do it right have to have brown to start with to clean it starting $8 each it's more priicy but it will pay for itself if u have other things \u would like to get shiny. just do not buy a done up angle grinder with the bufing pad already on it beleive it or not u will spend close to $100 more if u have 2 piece wheels or btter u can take the spokes out and cross cut for a more brilliant shine and i guarantee they will look like chrome if they are aluminum. i have some aluminum wheels on my chevy ill get before and after pics of it to show u cuz i need to cut them again

meguiars is the shit. but ill have to give it to turtle wax they came out with something called the black box for black paint only. it does a hella good job i had tree marks scratches dull heavily oxidized paint . i did use 3m compound before ne thing cuz it doesn't come with compound but it gave my truck a beautiful deep rich black wet shine
