brewer_brewer Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 0 to 8 is your gain setting. in a perfect world you would match that number to the preout voltage of your headunit. ie, if you headunit has 4.5 volts preout then you would set the gain to 4.5 volts. but other factors come into play such as voltage loss through rca's, not all songs have the same level in them, etc, etc etc. anyway the best way to do it is with an O-scope or at least with a DMM if you have one available. P=V^2 / r so V= sqrt(P*r) => V = sqrt(3000*1) = 55.77 volts Edited October 2, 2009 by fritosaregood Quote seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970
fox_racin4 Posted October 2, 2009 Author Report Posted October 2, 2009 have a dmm i will be spliting the rcs off so i will only have half the voltage threw each... 5 volt preouts so 2.5 to each amp correct? i was thnking of putting it at 4 so i dont need to crank the gains and still have room to turn it down when i would like Quote 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole
brewer_brewer Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 with the 0 to 8 are you talking about the gains or bass boost?
