bigjoe Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 im putting a subwoofer im my friends 2002 ford explorer, he currently has 2 alpine type rs 12' and a 1000 watt amp. im going to custom make the box but im not sure wether or not to go with a sealed or vented box. any ideas on what type of box to go with?

If he listens to deep, low bass rockin', loud bass (Of course you really don't know what LOW's are until you hear 33 HZ and Below) rap/hip-hop then do ported as ^ that guy said. And porting isn't just about adding a hole. You have to Tune it (Determined by length, Height & Width) If he listens to Rock & Sound Quality type music he should do sealed.
