Macfadyen732 Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 bass knobs: do they take over as the gain or when you max the knob out is it just as high as where the gain is set on the amp. - if that makes sense. 2009 Hyundai Accent GL Alpine CDA 9884 Rockford Fosgate Wire Rockford Fosgate 501bd Soundstream 12 Reference Hifonics Zeus ZXI 6410 Rockford Fosgate T1652 Rockford Fosgate T152 XBL: NW Livin Loud

I believe if you have a remote "gain" knob, if you put the knob all the way up when tuning and while it is up you set your gain on your amp, then when you turn the remote gain up it matches where you set it on the amp itself. I am pretty sure this is how it works on my kicker amp as I have the gain set at about 60% with my Gain Knob all the way up, now if I am playing the amp with the remote gain knob all the way up it wont go any louder unless I go back to the amp and increase the gain on the amp, if that makes sense. So with my remote gain knob all the way up, it is the amp is making the amount of power that I tuned it to do. About Bass Boost Knobs, I couldnt answer your Q, since I have never had an amp with a bass boost knob. Someone correct me if I am wrong. ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ kl0wn Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 CaptainzPlanetz, I believe he is talking about the same type of knob you are talking about, everybody calls them different names from what I have seen. But IIRC the knob ya'll are talking about when you have it turned all the way up, the amp is working exactly how you have the gains setup on the amp, but when you turn it down, it lowers your gains so the amp is not working as hard as it is with the knob full tilt. But if I am correct about that..which I THINK I am, not 100% positive, the knob will not cause clipping if you are wondering. Somebody correct me too if I am wrong. 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz
