multiple subwoofer / amp setup

What is your guys input on this....New build is gonna consist of 20-24 woofers in a clam shell. each sub is 500rms each. Is it better to try and run all woofers on one big amp or should I do a multiple amp setup? or does it not really matter?

With the advent of small Big Power amps I would suggest the use of one amp, just in the shock factor alone it would be cool. When you use multiple amps you have to match them with one amp its set it and go....20 subs would be a nightmare to wire to one amp but there are a bunch of amps that make over 10kw rms out there to run your set-up. Just my .02

I would do multiples, or else IMO you are gonna have rise like no other. Plus I dont even think you can wire 20 woofers to one amp. I would say do like 5 amps, 1 amp per 4 woofers, or you could do 1 amp per 2 woofers, the latter 2 would be most efficient IMO.
