alan412
Thanks! this helps alot. But where should i connect the ground when i am calibrating it? And how do you know when it is calibrated? -just when you have a straight flat line on the X axis? the ground clip does not have to be connected when calibrating. Just the scope probe, mine has an attachment with a little hook on it. When you hook the scope probe to the calibration hook it should be a square wave form and read 2 volts peak to peak. here is a pic. it's crappy but you should get the idea edit: can those red calibration knobs be pressed in? if so they should be. a good rule of thumb set all knobs to 12 o'clock. all calibration knobs to the right. push all buttons in. keep x/y axis button out. alan412
it looks pretty good to me. the top line looks slightly high though. also adjust your trig level so the line lines up right at the edge of the grid. edit: it can get extremely tricky when trying to tune your system with an o-scope. I thought it was as easy as it sounded until i posted a thread up on diyma.com. i'll link you to it. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/diy-mo...ng-o-scope.html to be honest after reading what some of these guys posted it scared me away from using the o-scope. i need to further my knowledge about it more. i know the basics and that's about it. alan412
no problem. i noticed in the picture that you had the ground clip connected. that is not necessary, i'm not sure if it will effect it, but try to calibrate it without the ground clip connected. I've just been doing everything with my dmm lately. I don't want to take the risk and screw something up. I'm pretty sure thats probably how i just blew my sub lol. I noticed you were 18, im 18 as well. what type of job do you have? Looks like you do pretty well with all that equipment you have.
