15VmaxXL Posted November 22, 2009 Report Share Posted November 22, 2009 Im curious to see what people say about this? I have a level 5 D2 18" and 2 hifonics 1600s. each amp is running at 2 ohms. I had an idea of strapping these 2 amps together and another 2 together to run the level 5. What i wanted to know am i doing this math right? Each amp would share the 2 ohm load of each VC and each amp would be 1 ohm correct? I just wanted to post this before i bought my other 2 amps. Is this dangerous? Cr@sh Posted November 22, 2009 Report Share Posted November 22, 2009 You are correct, if the voice coils are 2ohm each and you got a second pair of of 1600's then each amp(4 total) would see a 1ohm load.
