PLus what is the norm for a resting batt that has sit 7hrs or so in a vehicle?

Depends on the battery and how well it's charged. Most rest in between 12.3 - 13. Sounds to me like you are just dipping at idle, which means your battery reserve is supplying some of the current needed for your system. Not really a big deal unless you plan on demoing for 12-15 hours straight non stop.. I wouldn't be too concerned about it unless you plan on beating for quite a while. Your batteries will weaken some though.

If you dont have anything on like dome lights or anything.... Sealed batts can sit at 13.3-13.4 all day long. Flooded batts like your factory battery will be 12.7-13.1 for 7-8 hrs. That is if they are in good shape and fully charged.

Is your belt new or old? You say its when its cold... usually an old belt will slip more when cold.
