ATLien
Where can I find some good info on increasing SPL? I'm just starting out so I need to get my learn on. I just typed "how to increase SPL" in youtube and it came up with "how to increase your sperm count". here is my build so far. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=62244 (just added pics and a video) Edited November 27, 2009 by ATLien

The only time I mentioned SPL in that thread was when I said my goal is SPL but I would like it to sound good as well.
ATLien
Anyways, where can I find learning material so I can better understand SPL and how to increase it?
raytard
more power, more cone area, those are the easy ways the whole box thing is more technical, ported is better than sealed, bandpasses have the potential to be louder, but are harder to do and less musical so just stick with ported. big port, smaller box for more power (more power=louder), tune high, maybe 5-10hz below tuning, you gotta play around with it thats spl 101 Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
ATLien
It sounds like the general census is to build my own box. I found the specs from RF so I'll do a little research and report back with a finished product. I'm usually pretty busy so it'll probably take me a few weeks to get the supplies and build something nice.
raytard
and while youre at it, run some 0g and get a real 1000 watt amp and not a 600watt max piece of junk...garbage in, garbage out Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC

I regret going to cheap on the amp. I'm new to all this and I'm doing all the installations myself. When I found this site I was like damn, these folks ride with REAL equipment! I'm learning man. And yes, the big three is up next. ps. it's 2000w max 1400 rms btw Edited November 27, 2009 by ATLien
