Look at the pic. the positives are next to each other and the negatives are next to each other. They are connected internally for ease of wiring multiple subs (2 dual 4's for example). If you have 2 dual 4-ohm subs, wire each sub down to 2 ohms and connect them to the amp and it'll be wired to one ohm.
