heres where the dowel should go and where the port length starts

round over the back of the port too since its 1.5" thick... dont skimp anywhere when it comes to rounding

the dowel in the port wont be needed since its doubled walled and braced on the inner port wall... that dowel actually will create more turbulence

when u have a weak outer port wall its worth the sacrifice to add the dowel in for support, but in ur case u dont need it and might as well have an unrestricted port for the lowest mach possible

thats a chit ton of resin!! total waste... resin the kerf yes but no need to fill it... thatd be a gallon or more just there

1 step ahead of you, check my xray box. Youll see 4 vertical braces, and that the ports end is rounded over. I already had those thoughts, lol.

and to what domo was sayin, i thought about something like that. But decided along what Decaf said, too expensive, wont cure, what about expanding foam? A lil great stuff maybe?

EDIT: Only differences between this one and the first completed box is that on this one the port is measured correctly. brings the tuning down to 35.1 Hz. But the braces and roundover on the port were already there, i cleared the top so you could tell. Kinda wanna put a big plexi window on this thing, but cant really see that happenning, unless i cold get away with a piece of 3/4" recessed into the box. One piece of wood that it will sit in and the other cut out so that you can see through. Something ive wanted to do for a bit, but probably wont happen on this.

If you're going to Great Stuff in the corner(s), it still might be best to do it in layers. Lay down a nice thick layer, let it harden to the touch, and then lay down the next one. If you fill the whole thing at once, no matter what you do it with, it'll never dry/cure. However, Great Stuff and resin are both great ideas if you feel the need to fill the gaps. It's gonna get costly though if you decide to fill ALL the 45's.

How much is a can of great stuff? Doesnt that shit expand pretty well? Dont think i could get away with a can or 2 of that? The box is only 4 cubes, and internal height is only 14"
