loudog Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Guys I just purchased a 2004 Yukon XL today and I will be using it during the summer to tow my motorcycles ..my question is regarding rim size I was wanting to go with 26's but I worried if there will be rubbing issues when towing my bikes the other option I was thinking about is 24's with small lowing kit to give it a nice stance can anyone give me an idea of any problems I would run into with 26's and the vehicle at stock height and pulling a motorcycle trailer ..I would really like to keep as smooth a ride as possible as well ..thanks guys and I would appreciate any insight I can get Quote
UKnoitsMe Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 your Yuk should have the factory air ride suspension (autoride) in the back. you should hear the compressor run briefly every time you start up the engine. if so, and everything works correctly = u should have no probs towing almost anything. i have 305/35/24s on my Yuk and never had a rubbing problem towing boats, lawn trailers, whatever! 26s arent too much taller. Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it.
