FreekDesignz Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 so i have 2 kicker L5 duel 2 ohm squares @ 600 watts a piece and i have 2 alpine mrp-m500s, the alpines are 500 watts a piece @ 2 ohm and i was wondering if i should wire them at 1 ohm, 2 ohm or 8 ohm. the amps are stable @ 2 ohm but i would like to wire them @ 1 ohm??? would that hurt the amps??? Upgrade you electrical then you may be able to run them down that far.. I had my stetsom 1k4 1ohm version running 0.5 daily for about 6 months but i had 2 batts and a upgraded alt.. Blackedout Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 The best you can do is run each sub at 4 ohm off each amp.... Or one amp, 2 subs @ 2 ohms..... Alpine's amps are especially sensitive when it comes to the protect mode. No running those at 1 ohm, they will shut off. Quote Trunk Build Log
