kweezinarts Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Hi, im new to forums here, seems like lots of knowledgeable people here who might have some good advice for me can get a us amp md2d and 2 re sx10d4's for $445 shipped (Edit: All equipment is NIB!). problem is i only have a 90A alt (plan on gettin 120A OEM soon or This 200A ). should i underpower the 2 @1ohm or pound 1 @2ohm? also (dumb question) does the impedance affect the current draw other than the fact that its lowering the watts? currently i have an old skool kenwood kac-x401m (rated 400w rms @2ohm @ 12v) and 2 kicker cvr 12's 2ohm DVC. how much louder, if any, would the md2d @2ohm w/ 1 RE sx10D4? sry for the barrage of questions lol thnx for any tips... 01 S-10 Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 I would say that is a good deal if the equipment is in VERY good condition. Also yes the impedance will affect the current draw, it will draw more power at 1ohm than at 2ohm. If you have the proper electrical to back it up and a good enclosure the new setup would be considerably louder and sound cleaner also. TDH FTW !!!
