A&W ROOTBEER Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 the car is a 2007 cadillac cts, and it has odd speaker placement from what im used too..it has 4 6.5'' in the door and 2 tweers in the front which is common, but it has 1 3.5'' speaker in the middle of the dash board and 8'' factory sub in the back i will replace with another 8'' sub..so a 5 channel amp would work correct?
raytard Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 bose system? i think that extra 3.5 in the center isnt a summed channel from the front two speaks, but rather its own channel. fronts should be comps basically. so each door is a channel, the woofer is its own channel, and the center is its own channel (i think, dont quote me on it) so you could run a 5 channel and lose the center (Which doesnt really matter cuz 6.5in comps will overpower any 3.5 you can find by a large margin) or run two 4-channels, the second one bridged on rear to power the woofer and just one front output to drive the 3.5 (or a 5 chan and run the 3.5 off the h/u) Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
